It’s trite to say but there are few experiences, trials, difficulties that make me feel so excruciatingly, so utterly alone as motherhood. I’ve been waffling back and forth about whether to write anything about what we are going through here and now, because I have this knee-jerk instinct that kicks in any time I’m struggling as a mom: Shut the fuck up about it, my brain goes. This is your fault, your problem, your privilege, get a grip and grow up.
